1971 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, 454ci V8, 4-Spd Manual, A/C, Low Miles, #s Match
Canyon State Classics brings to market a stunning 1971 Chevrolet Corvette 454 Big Block T-Top Coupe in beautiful condition inside and out. This was 1 of only 5000 LS5 big block vettes produced! Break that down by Coupe and Conv plus 4 speed manual and this is a rare bird! This car features a very original Black Leather interior and a beautiful Raven Black exterior which makes this car perfect for a sunny summer day or Fall afternoon cruise.

The exterior on the car is beautifully redone and is finished in Deep Raven Black. Paint is 25+ Years Old and still looks great with no cracking or issues. It does have some very tiny touch ups on rock chips up front but paint is above driver quality for its age. The whole car was just treated to a $700+ Multistage Paint Color Correction. The car is a color change from its original color of code 973 Red, but from what the previous owner was told is that black was not available in 1971 and the original owner had to have a black Corvette and had it professionally done a few years after buying it new. There is no red visible anywhere on the car and entire car was disassembled for paint. All chrome is original excellent dry desert condition. The body is arrow straight and all body lines are correct and body seams present in fenders. The undercarriage is in good condition and is un restored. The underside is very clean and the frame and chassis is all original. The emblems, chrome and interior appear to be in nice original condition, and back up the idea that the mileage is original.
The interior is in nice original shape all around. The seats appear to be original but might be too nice to have lasted this long so I am not sure one way or another but they look great with no dryness or ware. Both door panels, console, dash and carpet are very good original condition. All gauges and switches are functional other than the clock. The updated Am/Fm sounds great.
Mechanically, this little Stingray runs great. The 454ci V8 is a very fast motor and this Vette FLYS and there are receipts for a rebuilt 20+ years ago on engine but current owner only put about 8k miles on this car during ownership! It is mated to a numbers matching M20 Muncie 4-speed. The engine compartment was maintained with attention to detail and is largely original with exception of upgraded ignition system and missing the shielding for around distributor. This car drives straight and true and is extremely tight in the suspension. The rear end also appears to be either rebuilt or replaced, as I did not look for ID numbers but can tell it looks fresh. The brakes are also all new and in very good shape and stop the car perfectly. This car needs nothing and is ready to cruise on a sunny day or hot summer night. |
